Everything you need to know about using your pay.hdmpoint wallet — how it works, what it costs, your rights, and exactly how we protect your information.

Effective September 11, 2026 Transfers ₦10 per transaction Deposits 1.5% (capped at ₦300)

Last updated September 11, 2026. Please read these terms carefully — by creating an account you agree to them.

1 About pay.hdmpoint

pay.hdmpoint is a digital wallet service that lets you send and receive money, fund your wallet, buy airtime and data, and pay for everyday bills — all from your phone.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the pay.hdmpoint app and website (the "Service"). They form a legal agreement between you and pay.hdmpoint. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

2 Your account

To use pay.hdmpoint you must create an account, be at least 18 years old, and provide accurate, current information. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.

Keeping your account secure

  • Keep your password, transaction PIN, and any verification codes private — never share them with anyone, including people claiming to be from pay.hdmpoint.
  • We will never ask for your password, full PIN, or one-time code by phone, email, or message.
  • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for an extra layer of protection at sign-in.
  • Tell us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

Your transaction PIN authorises every transfer and confirms it's really you. Choose one that isn't easy to guess, and change it if you think it may have been exposed.

3 Identity verification (KYC)

To comply with financial regulations and to protect you, we verify the identity of our users. This is called Know Your Customer (KYC).

  • You'll need to complete Tier 1 verification (for example, providing your NIN) before you can create a virtual account and start transacting.
  • Higher tiers unlock higher transaction and balance limits, and may require additional documents such as BVN, date of birth, a utility bill, or a photo/video check.
  • We may ask you to re-verify at any time if we're required to, or if something looks unusual on your account.
  • Providing false or misleading information may lead to your account being limited or closed.

4 Services & wallet

Your pay.hdmpoint wallet lets you:

  • Fund your wallet by bank transfer to your dedicated virtual account.
  • Send money to other pay.hdmpoint users and to external bank accounts.
  • Buy airtime and data across all major networks.
  • Pay bills and access other services we add over time.

Transaction limits

Your daily transfer limit and maximum wallet balance depend on your verification tier. Combined outgoing activity (transfers plus airtime and data purchases) counts toward your daily limit. You can view your current limits any time in the app under Account Limits.

Funds you hold in your wallet remain yours. We only move money when you authorise a transaction with your PIN (and, where enabled, 2FA).

5 Fees & charges

We keep our pricing simple and transparent. There are no sign-up or maintenance fees. The rates below are current and may be updated from time to time — the figures shown here are always live.

6 Acceptable use

To keep pay.hdmpoint safe for everyone, you agree not to use the Service to:

  • Break any law, or fund or facilitate any illegal activity, fraud, money laundering, or terrorism.
  • Impersonate another person or provide false identity information.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, other accounts, or disrupt the Service.
  • Use the Service on behalf of someone else without proper authorisation.

We monitor for suspicious activity and are required by law to report certain transactions to the relevant authorities.

7 Our liability

We work hard to keep the Service running smoothly and securely, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, including network outages, bank downtime, or provider failures.
  • We are not responsible for losses arising from you sharing your password, PIN, or codes, or from unauthorised access you could have prevented.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8 Suspension & closure

You can close your account at any time from the app or by contacting support. We may suspend or close an account if we reasonably believe it's necessary to comply with the law, protect you or others, or because these Terms have been breached.

Where we can, we'll give you notice and let you withdraw any remaining balance, subject to completing the checks the law requires.

9 Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This section explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we look after it.

Information we collect

  • Details you give us: your name, email, phone number, username, and the identity documents you submit for KYC (such as NIN or BVN).
  • Transaction information: the deposits, transfers, airtime/data purchases, and bill payments you make.
  • Technical information: device and app information, and login activity, used to keep your account secure.

10 How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Create and operate your wallet, and process the transactions you request.
  • Verify your identity and meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Protect your account, detect fraud, and keep the Service secure.
  • Provide customer support and send you important service notifications (like login alerts and transaction receipts).
  • Improve and develop new features.

We only process your information where we have a lawful basis to do so — such as performing our contract with you, meeting a legal duty, protecting against fraud, or with your consent.

11 When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it where necessary:

  • Service providers who help us operate — for example, our banking and virtual-account partner, payment processors, and email delivery — under strict confidentiality.
  • Regulators and authorities where we are legally required to, or to prevent fraud and financial crime.
  • Professional advisers such as auditors, only as needed.

12 Your rights

You have rights over your personal information, including the right to:

  • Access the information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that's inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your information, where we're not required to keep it by law.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We keep your information only for as long as needed to provide the Service and to meet our legal obligations (financial records, for example, must be retained for a set period by law).

13 How we protect your data

We use technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe, including:

  • Encryption of sensitive data in transit, and hashing of passwords and PINs (we never store them in plain text).
  • Two-factor authentication, login alerts, and session controls to protect your account.
  • Access controls that limit who can view your information internally.

No system is ever completely risk-free, so we also rely on you to keep your login details private and to report anything suspicious quickly.
